Silk Sheets: Cultivated and Wild Silk

red silk bedding set

Silk sheet has been around since centuries and has been the preferred choice of bedding by Emperors and kings due to its luxurious look and feel.

There are 2 types of silk – made from natural or cultivated worms. Cultivated silk is more expensive than wild silk and is also finer, smoother, rounder, more uniform in shape, size and color, and has longer thread filament. This costs you more but it is also more durable. Cultivated silk sheets are also known as mulberry silk sheets. Wild silk is called spun silk because the filaments are not very long so the filaments are spun together to make it long.

Start with silk sheets and satin pillowcases and then work your way to the rest.
