“I have a scarf I really like. If I take a photo of it, can you print the same design for me?”
“I don’t have a design file, only a picture. Can you use this picture to print the scarf?”

These questions are completely normal. But in professional scarf production, a photo of a finished scarf and a real design file are two very different things. To help you understand the process clearly, we explain everything below — and also show how we can help if you only have a photo.

1. Why a photo cannot be used directly for printing

1) A photo does not have the quality needed for printing

A photo can easily be affected by:

• lighting
  
• shadows
  
• angles
  
• folds in the fabric
  
• lens distortion
  
• low resolution
  

When the photo is enlarged to the desired customized scarf size, it will become:

• blurry
  
• pixelated
  
• distorted
  
• different in color from the original item
  

This is why a simple photograph cannot be turned into a clean printing file.

2) A photo cannot be edited or separated into parts

A real design file contains many layers, such as:

• background
  
• borders
  
• patterns
  
• flowers or shapes
  
• text
  
• logo
  

A photo, however, is just a single flat image. You cannot move elements, change colors, fix lines, or adjust the layout from it. This makes it unsuitable for printing work.

3) Printing requires strict file standards

To make a custom scarf, we need a file that meets these requirements:

• 300 DPI or higher resolution
  
• Correct color values (RGB or CMYK)
  
• AI, PSD, PDF, or TIFF format
  
• Exact size matching the scarf
  
• Extra bleed for cutting and sewing
  

A normal photo cannot meet these technical standards.

2. If you only have a photo — don’t worry

Many customers have photos or screenshots but no design file. This is completely fine — we offer professional design and redraw services.
