Custom Labels for Silk Scarves: Dome, Sticker & Woven

custom labels for custom silk scarves

When customizing silk scarves, the design, size, and fabric are usually the first things to consider. But labels are also an important part of the overall branding. A custom label can carry your logo, fabric composition, country of origin, or other product information, and it can also be added to gift boxes or packaging for a more complete branded presentation.

At ElleSilk, we offer three types of custom labels: Dome Labels, Sticker Labels, and Woven Labels. They differ in material, appearance, and application, so the right choice depends on where and how the label will be used.

Dome Label: A Raised UV Transfer Logo

Our Dome Label is a UV transfer label with a raised, glossy finish. It is produced according to the actual shape of your logo, including cut-out and negative areas, so there is no separate white label base around the design.

Unlike a conventional sticker that stays on the packaging as one complete piece, a Dome Label is transferred onto the surface. The logo is positioned on the gift box with the transfer film, pressed firmly into place, and then the top film is peeled away. Once applied, only the raised logo remains on the surface, creating a clean, almost directly printed-on appearance with a subtle 3D effect.

Because the logo is transferred directly onto the packaging, Dome Labels work best on smooth, flat surfaces, such as laminated gift boxes and smooth packaging bags. Textured or uneven surfaces provide less contact area for the transfer adhesive, which can affect how securely fine parts of the logo adhere.

For gift boxes, around 25 × 50 mm is a good reference size, although the final dimensions should follow the shape and proportions of your logo. For most silk scarf packaging, we find that keeping the transferred logo relatively small gives a cleaner and more refined result.

Sticker Label: For Packaging and Sealing

A Sticker Label is a paper-based self-adhesive label, with your logo or artwork printed on a white label base.

Unlike a Dome Label, the white base remains part of the finished sticker. If your logo has cut-out areas, they can be shown in the printed artwork, but the paper itself normally remains underneath.

Sticker Labels have strong adhesion and can be used on gift boxes and packaging bags. They also work well as sealing labels for bags or wrapping.

We usually recommend around 30 × 40 mm. For a sealing label, there is rarely a need to make it very large; it only needs enough adhesive area to close the packaging securely.

Woven Label: Sewn Directly onto the Scarf

A Woven Label is made from woven threads, with the logo and text woven directly into the material rather than printed on the surface.

It can include your logo, fabric composition, country of origin, or other product information. The finished label is sewn directly onto the silk scarf.

A common size is around 30 × 40 mm, although the final size depends partly on how much information you want to include. If there are several lines of text, we recommend preparing the layout carefully and keeping the lettering large enough to remain clear after weaving.

This is especially important for small text and detailed logos. Artwork that looks very sharp on a screen may lose some definition when reproduced with woven threads. If a design contains too much detail for the requested size, adjusting the layout or dimensions can help produce a clearer result.

Are Custom Labels Included with Gift Boxes?

No. Custom labels and gift boxes are separate products and are ordered separately.

You can order either one on its own or use both in the same project. For example, you might have a Woven Label sewn onto the scarf and a Dome Label transferred onto the gift box.

The MOQ for custom labels is 1,000 pieces. This is partly due to the custom production involved and partly due to the additional handling required. Woven Labels, for example, need to be positioned and sewn onto the scarves individually.

For customers who place silk scarf orders regularly, the labels can also be produced in one batch and used for future orders.

What Do We Need to Make Your Custom Labels?

When placing your order, please provide:

  • Your logo and/or label text
  • Preferred label size
  • Layout requirements
  • Label placement

For the logo artwork, a vector file is preferred whenever possible. Vector artwork gives us cleaner lines to work with, particularly when the logo contains small lettering, fine edges, or detailed shapes.

Complex logos can usually be produced, but the physical size of the label still sets a limit on how much detail can be reproduced clearly. Very fine lines, tiny lettering, or intricate cut-outs may need to be adjusted when used on a small label.

Does the Price Include Sewing or Application?

Yes. The quoted price includes the applicable sewing or application cost.

For Woven Labels, this includes sewing each label onto the scarf. For Dome Labels, it includes transferring the logo onto the packaging surface, and for Sticker Labels, the corresponding application work is also included.

How Long Does Production Take?

Custom labels normally take 7–9 days to produce.

When ordered together with custom silk scarves, we can usually arrange the label production alongside the scarf production and ship them together.

If your scarves are already in production and you decide later that you would like to add custom labels, there may still be enough time to include them before shipment. As long as the production schedule allows, we can arrange the labels alongside your existing scarf order.
