How to Choose Satin Sheets

satin sheetsSatin that is natural and not man-made is made from silk. Silk is a fabric with a long history that dates back to the 27th century BC. It was not until the 6th century that the crafting of silk came to Europe and the rest of the world. While first made in China, making satin from silk began to be made elsewhere as well. When buying satin sheets, there are some things to keep in mind.

When buying satin sheets, you will have to keep in mind that the price for this beautiful bedding will be more than for bedding made from other bedding materials. If the satin sheets are cheap, then this may be because the satin sheets are knitted instead of woven and are of poor quality. Often, satin sheets are sold separately and not as a set. Make sure that you order the number of satin sheets that you want as well as the number of pillow cases that you would like. For example, if you have four pillows, make sure that you order enough cases for all of them and not just the two that are the usual number of a standard bed set.

Make sure, if you have a thicker mattress, that you order extra deep pockets for the fitted sheets. This is necessary because the satin sheets will not stretch as it is woven. It might be a good idea to order extra satin bed sheets (flat or fitted) that are in the same color, just in case one of the satin sheets gets damaged.
